As children we all have had stuffed animals that we like to play with. Even in today's high tech world plush toys are very popular with little children. From Winnie the Pooh to Care Bears, teddy bears continue to be a favorite among children. But where did these teddies come from. In simple words a teddy bear is a stuffed toy bear. These toys are mostly filled with white cotton and have a hair soft and smooth. They come in different styles and you can dress in different clothes. You can dress up teddy bear for the summer, autumn or winter you. There are even people who are professional teddy ear designers. They use old dress collars, and hunt in attics for long forgotten treasures and make fantastic ones from them. Even though they have been around for more than a hundred years now, teddy bears are still immensely popular. There is something about the big eyes and soft fur that makes them very attractive. A teddy bear has a way of making you feel calm and safe. In fact police officers and firemen carry teddy bears to give to children in an emergency situation. It has been found that giving a child a teddy in an emergency situation helps to settle them. They are a great gift item to give to children or your significant other on Valentine's Day, a birthday or on Christmas.
